Perveen completed her undergraduate training in beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia. She graduated with a Biology (BSc.) degree from Saint Mary's University in 1992 and received her BSc.(Pharm) degree in 1996 from Dalhousie University.

Since moving to Ottawa she has also completed a certification in Women's Health which continues to be a topic of interest to her.

Perveen has always held an interest in providing education to others as well as continued learning for herself. She currently sits on the continuing education committee of the Ottawa-Carleton Pharmacists' Association which provides live education events for it's members.

Perveen has worked with Shoppers Drug Mart for over 10 years and currently manages the pharmacy located inside Murale.

She has always had a passion for dermatology. From a pharmacy perspective, her goal is to merge optimal prescription therapy with optimal over-the-counter non prescription products eg. cleansers and moisturizers. The Shoppers Simply Pharmacy location supports this concept.

She looks forward to working together with the other experts at Murale, patients and physicians to bring to you a comprehensive step-wise approach to skin health.

Skin-cleansing wipes

We’re busy, busy, busy. I know it, you know it—and so do cosmetics companies. That’s why many manufacturers of facial cleansers have added face-cleansing wipes to their line of product offerings.  Fast, easy, disposable—what’s not to love, right? Even better, for those who travel, they're easily toted in carry-on. Some women even pack a few in their desk drawer for a quick refresher before a big meeting, or in case they need to do a makeup change on the fly.

Skin-cleansing wipes are one of the biggest things to happen to the skincare category in recent years. But which to choose?

The first thing consumers need to decide is if they want the wet or dry variety. Both come packed with cleansers, moisturizers and even chemical exfoliators, but the dry cloth needs to be run under a tap before use while the wet is pre-moistened.

Next, choose open- or closed-weave. Open weaves are softer and a better bet for sensitive skin; the closed weave (which is tighter,  and slightly rougher) offers more mechanical exfoliation, ideal for oily skins.

Some wipes even come with added benefits—antioxidant vitamins, or brightening agents, for example.
